By accessing or using our services, including but not limited to therapy and counselling sessions, our website, and any other services or products we provide, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service.

2. Services Provided

We offer professional play therapy and counselling services for children, as well as support for parents and caregivers. Our services are tailored to meet the emotional and behavioral needs of your child and may include in-person consultations, online therapy sessions, workshops, and other related services.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract to use our services. If you are accessing our services on behalf of a minor (your child), you confirm that you are their legal guardian and consent to their participation in our services.

4. Booking Appointments

Appointments for therapy sessions can be made via phone or email. You agree to provide accurate and truthful information when making an appointment, including personal, contact, and medical details. By booking an appointment, you commit to attending the scheduled session and will notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule.

5. Payment

Payment for services is required prior to or at the time of the appointment, unless otherwise arranged. Our fees for therapy services are outlined at the time of booking. We accept payment via cash, card, or other online payment methods. If applicable, we may issue a receipt for payment upon request.

6. Confidentiality

All personal and medical information shared with us during therapy sessions is confidential, in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We will not disclose any information without your consent unless required by law, or if we believe there is a risk of harm to you or others.

7. Responsibility of Clients

You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information about your child’s emotional, behavioral, and medical history to ensure that we can provide the best possible service. You are also responsible for attending scheduled sessions and communicating any concerns or changes in your child’s condition.

8. Termination and Cancellations

Either party may terminate the therapy services at any time. If you wish to discontinue therapy, you should inform us as soon as possible. We also reserve the right to terminate services if there is a breach of these Terms of Service, or if we determine that therapy is no longer effective or appropriate for your child.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please inform us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged a cancellation fee.

9. Online Therapy

If applicable, our online therapy services are conducted through secure, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platforms. You agree to use a device with appropriate internet connectivity to ensure the smooth delivery of online sessions.

10. Limitation of Liability

We make every effort to provide high-quality services. However, by using our services, you agree that Genie’s Play Therapy and Counselling Practice is not responsible for any outcomes of therapy sessions, nor for any damages, injuries, or losses arising directly or indirectly from the use of our services.

11. No Guarantee of Results

While we strive to offer the best possible therapeutic support, individual results may vary. We do not guarantee specific outcomes from therapy, as each child’s progress is influenced by various factors. You acknowledge and understand that therapy is a collaborative process that requires active participation.

12. Modification of Terms

We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms of Service at any time. All changes will be posted on our website and will be effective immediately upon posting. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically for any updates.

13. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

14. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any disputes related to these Terms of Service, we will make reasonable efforts to resolve the matter amicably. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes will be resolved through mediation or arbitration as determined by applicable law.
